Course Overview

The Acupuncture CE course in South Korea consists of Sessions 3-5 of the Small Animal Veterinary Acupuncture course, an ideal option for many students to pursue their Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist diploma after attending the first two sessions of any acupuncture CE course offered by the Chi Institute.

This CE course is comprised of online lectures, as well as hands-on wet labs and lectures on-site in South Korea. The online and on-site lectures, presentation slides, labs, class handouts and final exam are in English.

  • Tuition covers one meal for lunch each day, one reception dinner, all class instruction, the class handout, and exam fees. Lodging is NOT included in the tuition.

CVA Certification

Students of the Small Animal Acupuncture course are eligible for the Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist certification endorsed by the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. The CVA certification requirements are as follows:

  • Complete all five sessions of the course.
  • Pass three online quizzes (administered online after sessions 1-3) with scores above 75%.
  • Pass final written exam in the final on-site session with a score above 75%.
  • Pass the clinical acupoints exam in the final on-site session with a score above 75%.
  • Submit one veterinary acupuncture case report to be approved.
  • Complete 30-hours of advanced TCVM course training or internship with a certified veterinary acupuncturist. More information on completing the internship requirement can be found here.

Please note that the Chi Institute cannot issue any certification to DVM students until their DVM has been obtained.
