Master Degree in TCVM
We are very proud to announce that the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine and the China Southwest University offer a Master Degree of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). This is an opportunity for the veterinarian, certified in Basic Acupuncture, to pursue a great understanding of veterinary acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines.
Curriculum
 
The total credit hours required for the Master of Science is 36. Up to 8 credits earned from another accredited institution may be transferred and must be applied during the first year of enrollment. All Master students are required to take the required core courses. The Master Degree of Science in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine will be conferred by the Chi Institute and the China Southwest University and to those who complete all the program requirements. The duration of study can be 2-10 years.

Recommended plan
The sequence of Step 2-6 may be changed according your own schedule.
1) Mail (and fax if possible) the Application Form with required materials to the Chi Institute with a check of $50 for application fee;
2) Finish the basic veterinary acupuncture course (8 credits).
3) Attend the TCVM conference in China (4 credits) and meet the TCVM professors and the Master Degree committee to confirm your research direction/subject so that you may begin the clinical trial and thesis.
4) Finish all of the core courses and some elective courses in order to accumulate at least 28 credits in total.
5) Finish your clinical trial and first draft of your thesis under the supervision of your committee in China remotely.
6) Attend another TCVM conference in China (4 credits), discuss your clinical trial and thesis with your committee in person, finalize your thesis and pass the final defense (4 credits).
7) Receive your Master degree in TCVM after completing 36 credits.
