Master Degree in TCVM
We are very proud to announce that the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine and the South China Agricultural University offer a Master Degree of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). This is an opportunity for the veterinarian, certified in Basic Acupuncture, to pursue a great understanding of veterinary acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines.
Curriculum
 
The total credit hours required for the Master of Science is 36. Up to 8 credits earned from another accredited institution may be transferred and must be applied during the first year of enrollment. All Master students are required to take the required core courses. The Master Degree of Science in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine will be conferred by the Chi Institute and the South China Agricultural University and to those who complete all the program requirements. The duration of study can be 2-10 years.

Recommended plan
The sequence of steps may be changed according your own schedule. However, we strongly recommend you to complete this Master Degree in 2 years from sending in the Master program application form. If a student can not complete this program in 2 years, he has to pay $3,300 yearly until their completion.
1) Finish the basic veterinary acupuncture course (8 credits).
2) Mail (and fax if possible) the Application Form with required materials to the Chi Institute with a check of $100 for application fee just before attending a TCVM Annual Conference in China.
3) Attend the TCVM conference in China (4 credits) and meet the TCVM professors and the Master Degree committee to confirm your research direction/subject so that you may begin the clinical trial and thesis.
4) Pay $3,300 for your first year program either directly to South China Agricultural University or to the Chi Institute by check or wire-transfer. Please remember the tuition fee is $3,300 per year after you enter the South China Agricultural University Master Degree program. The time is the essence.
5) Finish all of the core courses and some elective courses in order to accumulate at least 28 credits in total.
6) Finish your clinical trial and first draft of your thesis under the supervision of your committee in China remotely.
7) For the second year, the Chi Institute offers $3,000 scholarship to selected students for the tuition of the South China Agricultural Universityin order to support them to get more scientific data to validate the TCVM.
8) Attend another TCVM conference in China (4 credits), present and defend your thesis with your committee members (4 credits).
9) Receive your Master degree in TCVM in China and publish your thesis.
