This year the Chi Institute celebrates its 10th anniversary of classes, as well as its largest class.  Starting in 1998 serving a class of 12 students, we have nearly overgrown our new conference room, and will graduate approximately 175 students in 2008, for a grand total of 1,642 students.  This proves to truly be an idea whose time is now!

This was our year to go International! First the Chi Institute introduced the first herbal course in Germany for 15 students, hosted by Dr. Ferdinand Niesen. Euroherbs, a Netherlands company, has become the European distributor of Dr. Xie’s Jing Tang herbal. Please visit for detail.

In October the Chi Institute will host its first European veterinary acupuncture class in Madrid, Spain, coordinated by Dr. Lorena Lloret of Chi Institute Europe. See for more information.

Many are behind the scenes working on translating Dr. Xie’s Volume I, Fundamental Principles into Spanish, German and Japanese to help increase awareness of this wonderful work.

Dr. Xie welcomed two new UF interns for this semester:  Stacie Atria, DVM and Justin Shmalberg, DVM, CVA. They are both local residents and Chi Graduates, and are eager to advance their TCVM studies.

Dr. Xie’s Jing Tang Herbal initiated a fund drive for employees and friends who wished to aid the victims of the China Sichuan earthquake this May.  After matching dollar for dollar by Jing Tang, the total amount donated was $3,350.
