Greetings for the Year of Tiger

By Zhen Zhao, MS, written on the night of February 14, 2010, the Chinese New Year of the Tiger.

Dear Friends and TCVM Practitioners,

As the General Manager of the Chi Institute and Dr. Xie's Jing Tang Herbal, I'd like to take a moment tonight, as we celebrate the New Year of the Tiger, to say thank you to all our students, customers, volunteers and friends, and share with you some memorable stories from the year of the Ox.

By the end of 2009, the total number of Chi graduates exceeded 2,000. A total of 581 vets had earned the title of CVA, CVCH, CVFT or CVTP registered at the Chi Institute and China National Society of TCVM. The year of Ox was also the year that Chi became international. 34 European vets have successfully graduated from the first Chi Europe Acupuncture Class in Madrid, Spain; and thirteen German vets graduated from the first Chi German TCVM Herbology Course. A total of 219 international veterinarians, from 37 countries and every one of the Earth's continents, have now taken training at Chi.

We are also thrilled about the completion of our new 8000 sq.ft. Building, which includes a new Conference Room "B". It was opened on the first day of our 11th Annual TCVM Conference, serving as the ballroom for all our attendees at the gala event! This second conference room allows for more legroom and desktop space for students attending lectures and labs. The new audio visual system is an upgrade, which assures a better learning experience. Come and see!

Xie’s family and Chi & Jing Tang employees celebrated the New Year of the Tiger.

Another exciting moment of the Ox year came at the conclusion of the first series of herbal course modules given in our new on-line format. Over 300 licensed veterinarians from all over the world have already taken advantage of this new learning approach, which enables the advancement of TCVM knowledge and study without traveling or leaving work. Most of the on-line students were very satisfied with their experience. Recently, this on-line program has moved into the second round: now students are able to start from any module of their choice and take classes in any sequences or time frame.

The Year of Tiger (2010) is believed to be the Year of Luck, Energy and Courage. As always, the Chi Institute and Jing-Tang will continue to strive to improve the quality of our service, trying our best to work with you and make this world a better place.

May you all have a peaceful and fruitful Year of the Tiger!
