Car
Gainesville is accessible by I-75, which
runs North-South. Driving within the state:
- Orlando is 2 hours South.
- Tampa is 2 hours Southwest.
- Jacksonville is 1 hours 45 minutes Northeast.
- Miami is 5.5 hours South.
Airplane
The closest commercial airport (GNV) is in Gainesville,
Florida, a 40 minute drive to the Chi Institute. Gainesville is served by US Airway and
Delta, Major international airports to the
south are Orlando and Tampa, Jacksonville
is to the northeast. These airports are
served by all major carriers. Rental cars
are available at all airports. For private
pilots, Ocala has a municipal airport with
rental cars availability.
Lectures and Labs
Both are held at the Chi Institute, approximately 20 miles south off of I-75 , exit 368, proceed 2.2 miles west on Hwy 318.
Clothing
Lectures are held inside in a conference
room as well as most wet-labs. Small Animal Labs are held inside.
Herbal and Mixed Practice labs are indoor/outdoor.
Equine labs are outdoor.
- Fall and Winter: weather in North Central
Florida is usually mild. Mornings can drop
into the 30s yet can warm up into the 60s
or 70s by late morning. Clothing to bring
would include long pants and casual attire.
A light jacket and leather boots are preferred
while working around horses.
- Spring and Summer: weather can reach into
the 90s easily and shorts and cooler shirts
are recommended for the outside labs.Though
barns usually have shade, fans and easy
airflow.

Private Lodging Near the Chi Institute
Please note these spacious and clean facilities can be shared with another student, for an average rent of $40-$50 a night, and are similar to a bed and breakfast type of feel. They are all included in the welcome packet when you register, and vary from 6-12 miles down the road from our Institute.
Although they serve horse country participants, most students love being close by and having a country environment and some have cooking facilities.
