Experienced equine veterinarian required in the ‘garden city’ of Christchurch, New Zealand – the most English city outside England. Very cultural with excellent schooling & universities. 20 minutes from beaches & 1 hour from ski fields. In the centre of the world renowned South Island.

This is a botique, reputable, long-established equine practice servicing thoroughbred & standardbred stables & studs; plus pleasure horses. Practice is also official veterinarians for the major racetracks within the city – 70 meetings per year. The practice currently has 2 fulltime & 1 partime veterinarians. It is well equipped with portable shockwave, scans, scopes with camera, ecg & xray unit. All majory surgery is refered. The applicant for this position is to replace a DVM who was virtually fulltime chiropractic & acupuncture who returned to the States for family reasons. Veterinary degree must be registerable in NZ. The salary depends on years since graduation & experience but is in the NZ$80,000 – $100,000 range - or opportunity for a base salary plus profit share or partnership to the compatible person. Vehicle supplied with all expenses (excl housing) including indemnity insurance paid. Applicant must be reliable, keep excellent records, have good work ethics & communicative skills.
